You might have heard by now. The Bangladesh Rifles, a paramilitary fraction in charge of protecting our borders have mutinied and held hostages for over a day now, with constant requests for surrender, incentives as high as complete pardons and entertainment of all of their requests. But after over a day they haven't given up their arms. I cannot put too fine a point on it when I say something huge is about to happen. I live about two kilometers away from the barracks and we've been asked to evacuate but I'm not sure if we will yet. I can see the army men digging bunkers and taking positions from where I stand on my roof. A good friend of mine is stuck inside the barrack with his family; I haven't been able to reach him on the phone. Thus far many innocent people have died, and I've had the misfortune of witnessing much of this.
Please, keep us in your prayers and good will, I'm certain that I'm out of harm's way but many people, including a lot of my friends, aren't. I realize how this journal doesn't give much detail about the actual events but if you wish please look it up online. I'm too personally involved to state statistics right now.
